Worship is a state of the mind and heart that leads to certain effects on the soul.

In Blue like Jazz, Don says that he thinks that there is no better worship than wonder.
He wrote, "I think there are all sorts of things our hearts believe that don't make any sense to our heads. Love, for instance; we believe in love. Beauty. Jesus as God."
Worship to me, is a state that we must always be in. Such that everything you do and say glorifies God.
And with that, people see that your life is a constant testimony and sacrifice. Of course we are flawed, but I believe that as long as I put in effort to achieve it and not make excuses, it counts for something.
So here, this is my first step in stepping up to my calling. To lead people into worship. Be that tunnel of which worshippers will be able to glimpse the light at the end. The beauty and glory of God. That would be so lovely!
I guess I agree with Don to some measure. That worship encompasses wonder. Because it is through wonder that we can only dare to imagine the greatness of God. The sunsets, the dawns, something like music that touches the very depth of our soul. How we are receptive to the emotions of people around us. How we are so complex.
And I think that by stepping up to be a worship leader, I will eventually be able to understand God in a different light. One that does not just revolve around me. But seeing the wider picture, one that involves all His sheep. And I can't wait.

Type of worship leader I wannabe:
1. One that lives a life which influences the people around her. Such that people can look and say, wow, she deserves respect.
2. One who is able to balance the technical and spiritual side of worship. Such that the worship band can worship and also at the same time play skillfully. With a standard that would not 'turn people off'.
3. Shepard the congregation. Know them. Serve them.
